Gunners Eye Move For RB Leipzig Defender
Arsenal manager is not done in the transfer market after signing Stephan Lichtensteiner from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer. The Swiss international was out of contract and his services were not needed by the Bundesliga team, therefore, Emery was fast to make move for his signature so as to avoid losing him.
Despite getting the experienced defender, the Gunners manager is now eyeing a possible move for another Bundesliga defender but this time, he is going for RB Leipzig player Lukas Klostermann.
The Gunners had initially made a move to sign Lukas in 2015 but Arsene Wenger’s bid was rejected by the club, who as at that time, just got promoted to the German Bundesliga.
According to German media publication Bild, Arsenal are considering reigniting their desire to work with him in the upcoming season due to his impressive stats and displays with the club throughout last term.
Unai is determined to get a very strong back-four in the summer and that has made him put more focus on signing quality defenders.
According to reports, Arsenal’s sporting director Sven Mislintant is in talks with Dortmund’s defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The Turkish defender is being part of Dortmund’s strong setup at the back of the pitch for a very long time but he is closer to making a long-awaited switch to the Emirates Stadium.
