Sokratis Papasathopoulos is on the verge of agreeing to a deal to Arsenal this summer, according to his father
The Greece International has been heavily linked with the London outfit over the past days and reports have claimed Arsenal have agreed a 16 million pounds deal and the defender is expected to put pen to paper over a four year with the Gunners this week.
And speaking to Greek Radio Station Radio 24/7, Sokrtais father, Charalambos Papasathopoulos revealed the 29- year- old apparently snubbed the advances of Manchester United as his heart was already set on a move to the Emirates believing it was a better option at this stage of his career.
‘’ There was interest from United but he had to wait until July for them. United have a good relationship with Dortmund, the team talked but Sokratis chose to go to Arsenal.
Chamrambalos also revealed his son is already in England sorting out talks and suggested a medical has been pencilled for his son at the Emirates on Tuesday.
He is happy, he is in England at the moment and (on Tuesday) he will be doing what he has to do, the typical things, everything will go well, he is happy, he is changing’’ he further stated
The defender’s arrival would be a huge boost to Unal Emery’s quest of bolstering his defensive options ahead of his first season at the helm of the North London club.
