Unai Emery is said to be looking at the possibility of acquiring Stephen N’zonzi from Sevilla though the Spanish coach will need to activate the buyout clause stipulated in his contract.
According to reports from Goal, Arsenal have been made known they will need to trigger the 35 million pounds buyout clause needed for the securement of the midfielder, should the North London club be ready to make a bid.
The former Stoke star has been linked with a move back to the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester been mooted as possible destinations for the 29- year-old
Rumours appeared to have intensified mainly with the arrival of his former manager Emery to the Emirates and reports claim N’zonzi would be keen on a reunion with the man who guided Sevilla to three straight Europe league titles whilst at the helm of the Andalusia club.
However, the Spanish manager have been notified of the amount required to secure N’zonzi by the club chiefs and have been repeatedly warned only the exact amount would be considered if the defensive midfielder is to depart the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium this summer.
