Arsenal were poor at the back of the pitch last season and their new manager Unai Emery is hoping to find perfect solution to the defensive crisis by getting quality players in the summer transfer window.
The former PSG boss is being linked with numerous fullbacks, including Marquihos, whom he worked with at the Parc Des Princes Stadium.
However, reports reaching out from Spanish side Getafe claims that Emery has developed an interest in the club’s centre-back Djene Dakonam.
According to Spanish media outlet AS, the 26-year-old is being tracked by the North London club base on Emery’s desire to work with the impressive and highly-rated defender.
The Togolese international was wonderful for Getafe during last season and his reputation is presently rising as one of the best defenders in the Spain’s top-flight League.
In other Arsenal transfer news, Everton are ready to compete with West Ham for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who is out of contract in the summer.
Wilshere was left out of England’s World Cup squad by Southgate last month. His omission from the list could be traced to his lack of regular action with the Gunners during Arsene Wenger.
The player has reportedly made-up his mind to move to another club where he would feature more prominently in the coming season.
Though reports suggested last month that he’s prepared to extend his contract, Everton, West Ham are the leading club for his signature.
