Juventus defender Stephen Lichtsteiner has hinted at a move to the Gunners
The Swizz international is out of contract this summer and rumours have emerged Arsenal are poised to complete a deal for the fullback.
The Gunners are reportedly on the lookout for further additions to the squad as new boss Unai Emery looks to bolster his defensive options dwindled by the long-term absence of Laurent Koscielny and the retired Per Mertesacker
Lichtsteiner has been reportedly sounded out as a target for emery and the veteran could be interested in a surprising move to the Gunners this summer if guaranteed a regular starting spot.
The 34- year- old has made over 300 appearances for Juventus but increasingly found first-team opportunities limited the previous campaign and have revealed his desire to depart the Bianconeri this summer.
And in a recent interview, Lichtsteiner has appeared to have hinted a move to Arsenal could be on the cards this summer when asked about his prospects on becoming an Arsenal player
‘’I cannot say anything about that, nothing is finalized. Will it be done before the World Cup, I don’t know’’
‘’But my future is away from Turin. At the end of the season, I’m leaving. I’ll play abroad next year but I’ve not signed anything yet’’
Reports claim a deal hasn’t been concluded but negotiations have been moving positively, therefore an announcement could be made by the Gunners over the coming days.
