Chelsea are on the verge of missing out on Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir, who is reportedly at Anfield stadium for his medicals ahead of €70m switch to the Merseyside club.

The Blues were linked with a move for the Frenchman in January as Conte seek a solution to his midfield problems but the Italian manager couldn’t get the impressive playmaker.

According to reports emanating from the player’s country, Liverpool could spend big on his services as he was spotted in London alongside his agent for his medicals before the start of the summer World Cup which begins in 11 days time.

Should Fekir complete his medicals successfully, he will reportedly sign a four-year contract with the Reds after the world’s greatest football fiesta in Russia.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea were one-time linked with the player’s services earlier signature but only Chelsea made an official approach to compete with Liverpool for him.

Fekir is currently preparing for the world cup tournament with his national teammates. The Les Blues would be hoping to make a statement at the world stage having lost to Portugal in the last edition of the UEFA European Championship in 2017.

In other Chelsea transfer news, the Blues have received a major boost in their race to sign Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain as Juventus admit that he is no longer needed at the Turin outfits.
