Former Premier League Champions Chelsea are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Stoke City’s goalkeeper Jack Butland in the summer as they stand limited chances of retaining Thibaut Courtois beyond the summer.
Stoke City were relegated to the Championship for the first time in ten years and that has given the Blues the assurance of luring the England international to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Antonio Conte’s men were not solid at the back throughout last season but their first-choice goalie Thibaut Courtois was able to save them from humiliation in many matches.
Though the Belgian still has a year left to play in his contract, it is believed that Chelsea hierarchy are ready to listen to Madrid’s offer for his signature ahead of next season.
According to reports emanating from Stamford Bridge, the Stoke city’s goaltender has emerged as the Blues perfect replacement for Thibaut Courtois and they are ready to make official approach towards signing him ahead of other interested suitors.
However, Chelsea are also eyeing a move for Roma goalie Alisson in the summer but they are unwilling to compete with Liverpool for his service.
The Merseyside club are reportedly leading the race for Alisson’s signature and Chelsea are not financially buoyant to compete for his signature, according to the Sun.
