Chelsea are on the verge of confirming the hiring of Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri, according to numerous reports.
It’s being circulated in the media that Abramovich is ready to work with the Italian manager in the upcoming season.
Though that the Blues are still in talks with the manager’s representative over a possible move to Stamford Bridge as Conte’s replacement, Napoli star player Lorenzo Insigne has shockingly revealed that Sarri is on his way to the West London Club any time soon.
While speaking with Tuttosport, Lorenzo told reporters that he wouldn’t mind sitting on Chelsea’s substitute bench alongside Sarri in the upcoming season.
“If I sit on the Chelsea bench, I will be happy because he did well with Napoli and our football was appreciated by everyone.” he said.
He also showered praises on the manager’s philosophy, which according to him – has brought a new dimension to Napoli’s style of play.
Despite not winning any trophy with the Serie A giants this season, Sarri was praised by the Naples supporters for being able to keenly contest with Juventus for the Serie A title.
With the player’s recent comment, it could only mean that the Blues are almost set to reach an agreement with Sarri and that could happen before the start of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Lorenzo’s comment also suggested that he could be lured to the West London Club by Sarri, should he accept the deal offered him by the Blues hierarchy. Fingers crossed, let see how things turn out to be in a couple of days.
