According to reports, Manchester United have made their first bid of £96million in an offer to beat the likes of Juventus and Barcelona to the transfer of midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Man United want midfield reinforcement
United are said to be sure they have an edge in the transfer deal due to the Lazio star’s relationship with fellow national team colleague Nemanja Matic, as per Metro.
Milinkovic-Savic seems one of the best midfielders in the continent at the moment and would be a decent signing for United at the moment after a tough campaign and a summer of possible headaches in that role.
Enough place for new midfielder
Midfielder Michael Carrick has just hung his boots, while Belgium international midfielder Marouane Fellaini is heading towards the conclusion of his deal at Old Trafford, so there’s room for Milinkovic-Savic.
On top of that, France international midfielder Paul Pogba has not been at his very best for some time for the Red Devils and it could be argued that the Lazio ace would be more suited to Portuguese Jose Mourinho’s playing style.
£96million looks a lot to pay for an unproven youngster, but on the other hand, this looks a major gamble worth taking on what looks likely to end up a good investment on a footballer with a huge football career ahead of him.
