In his first statement as Arsenal manager, Unai Emery admitted that he knew the North London club need to be reinforced at the back and centre half of the pitch ahead of next season.

He also revealed his desire to sort-out Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere’s transfer saga before the World Cup commences in Russia.

The former PSG boss is rightly on track to fulfilled his promises as it was reported via London Football that Jack Wilshere has been convinced by the Spaniard to renew his contract with the Gunners.

In his desire to provide a strong and organized defensive setup ahead of the 2018-19 season, Emery has picked interest in PSG player Rabiot, whom he worked with during his reign at Parc Des Princes Stadium.

As for his plans to upgrade Arsenal’s display at the centre of the park, Emery has been linked with RB Leipzig playmaker Emil Forsberg in the summer.

According to Calcio Mercato, Emery has joined the race to capture the Swedish star, who was directly involved in 30 goals — eight goals and 22 assists — in the just-concluded season.

RB Leipzig have placed a €40m price tag on the player’s signature and Arsenal are ready to meet with the Bundesliga side for discussion.

He was in blistering form for the side, helping them qualify for next season’s Europa League competition after finishing sixth in the League table.
