Manchester United manager José Mourinho was desperate in his desire to capture Juventus left-back Alex Sandro during the winter transfer market but the Old Lady failed to sanction the Brazilian’s move to Old Trafford.
Though there are speculation that suggests that Sandro could be opened to discussion with the Red Devils after the summer World Cup, the Portuguese manager seems to have cooled his interest in the defender.
According to speculation emerging from Spain, Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo has emerged as the manager’s top target in the summer.
The Mirror also suggests that the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager has advised his employers to make move for his signature before the summer World Cup begins.
Just as Mourinho’s advice, the Red Devils hierarchy are reportedly considering making a £30m-offer for Cancelo’s services.
Mourinho could face stiff competition from Inter Milan, who could be eyeing a permanent deal for the player.
Cancelo spent this season with the San Siro outfits on a loan deal from Valencia but the deal could be made permanent by the Serie A giants base on the agreement between both parties.
The Old Trafford outfits would see some of their defenders leave the club in the summer due to lack of regular action on the field of play. Daley Blind , Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian are all believed to be ending their stay under Mourinho’s watch.
Meanwhile, Mourinho is still in the race for Danny Rose, Kieran Tierney as he hopes to find a long-term solution to his left-back problems.
