The future looks bright for Manchester United’s academy as there are quality players committing their longtime futures with the team.
17-year-old midfielder, Ethan Galbraith is the latest player to sign a professional contract with the Kieran McKenna’s team ahead of the upcoming season.
Galbraith featured in just 15 matches for the young Red Devils team this season. Having impressed with the player’s display in the 15 matches, Kieran advised the club’s hierarchy to offer the youngster a contract which will keep him at Old Trafford for a very long period of time.
The midfielder was offered his first professional contract by the club and he wasted no time before putting pen to paper to accept the offer.
After signing a new deal with the Red Devils, Galbraith couldn’t hide his join while speaking to Newsmen.
According to him, last night was his proudest moment, not just because he signed his first professional contract, but because he signed up with one of the greatest clubs in the world.
“It’s a proud moment for me and my family. Growing up as a young kid, obviously I always wanted to play football – especially for the biggest club in the world as well,” he said.
He further revealed his desire to push on in his career to becoming a household name in José Mourinho’s starting lineup in the nearest future.
“I’m very proud and just want to push on from here.” he said.
Galbraith, who joined the Premier League giants from Linfield after a successful trial, will need to perform brilliantly for the academy setup in the upcoming season so as to stand any chance to training with the First-team squad.
Considering the intense competition among United’s midfielders for a place in Mourinho’s first-team, the youngster will need more than inspiration to break into the team in the coming season.
