Newly appointed Arsenal manager Unai Emery is reportedly in a move to bolster his midfield setup in the summer. The former Paris St-Germain manager, who was officially announced as the Gunners boss on Wednesday, is hoping he gets some world-class midfielders to partner Mesut Ozil at the centre half of the park next season.
He said to be monitoring Nice’s and Ivorian holding midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, hoping to beat Mourinho to his services.
However, according to Sky Italia, Unai has joined Juventus in the race for Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini. The 21-year-old is valued at £26m by the Giallorossi, who are willing to cash-in on his signature this summer.
Lorenzo is relatively unknown to many Arsenal fans but his exploits for Roma in the Champions League this season has endeared him to many European powerhouses, including Juventus.
In preparation for his departure, Roma has listed Atalanta’s Bryan Cristante as one of the players who would serve as his replacement before the start of next season.
Despite being supported with only £50m transfer War-chest by Arsenal board of directors, Unai Emery has listed some players he would love to work within the new season.
PSG players — including Marco Veratti, Julian Draxler and Marquihos — are all tipped to switch to the Emirates Stadium due to the relationship they all shared with Emery, during his days at the Parc Des Princes Stadium.
