Arsenal are keenly vying for Turkish international defender Caglar Soyuncu in the summer. For more than two months, the Gunners have been linked with the player’s signature but they failed to make any official approach towards getting him.
But according to reports that emerged last week, Arsenal boards via Sven Mislintant, who is the club’s sporting director, had a round-table discussion with Freiburg and Soyuncu’s representatives over the possibility of luring the youngster to the Emirates Stadium next season.
However, Sven Mislintant seems to have successfully convinced Freiburg and the player to sign with the Gunners this summer as Altinordu’s President Mehmet Okanagan told reporters that his former player will be joining the North London club this Summer.
While reacting to the unending rumours linking him to Arsenal, Soyuncu reiterate that he hasn’t drawn a conclusion over his future despite Arsenal’s strong interest in his services.
However, the 21-year-old revealed he would need to speak with his agent before making any decisions in two weeks time.
“It is too early to say right now but everything will be clear within the next one-two weeks,” Soyuncu said.
Due to his lively display for the Bundesliga club this season, the 21-year-old has seen his price tag increased to £35m, according to transfermarkt.
Meanwhile, Soyuncu’s former club Altinordu are reportedly going to receive £9m should the Gunners successfully push through in the desire to capture the Turkey international.
