Manchester United and France international Anthony Martial might see his stay at Old Trafford cut short in the summer after failing to impress in the current campaign. The 22-year-old has failed in his bid to lay claim for a starting role in Mourinho’s starting lineup all through the just concluded season.
As result of his complacencies in front of goal in some of the matches he played for the Red Devils, the Portuguese manager seems ready to part way with him in the summer.
According to Daily Mirror in one of their reports last week, suggested that Chelsea and Arsenal are both on their toes monitoring the player’s situation at the Theater of Dreams.
The two Premier League giants are reportedly set to rival themselves for the 22-year-old’s signature, should Mourinho continue in his quest to cash-in on his signature in the coming weeks.
According to another report from Italy, Juventus have reportedly joined the race for Martial’s services as they look to replace Gonzalo Higuain, who is tipped to move to Chelsea alongside Maurizio Sarri in the summer.
However, Mourinho has turned his attention to 29-year-old Chelsea winger Willian as Martial’s replacement.
The former Chelsea boss has been Willian’s longtime admirer and he is hoping he finally capture the Brazilian in the summer.
Mourinho will find it difficult to snatch the player from Abramovich’s watch due to the player’s impressive performance for the Blues in recent years.
