Former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager José Mourinho is reportedly going to spend big in the summer transfer window after a not-too-impressive performance from his men this term.
The Portuguese tactician didn’t mount any pressure on Manchester City for the title throughout the season as they trailed the Citizens with 15 points at some point in the season.
With Michael Carrick’s retirement by the end of the season, Mourinho will unavoidably add a new defensive midfielder to his team during the summer transfer window.
Serej Milinko-Savic could be moving to Old Trafford this summer after reaching an agreement with Manchester United, according to last week’s report via The Independent.
The publication reports that United have strike a £80m deal with Lazio for the Serbian international who will serve as Carrick’s replacement.
It was also reported that Mourinho is eyeing a possible move for Brazilian centre midfielder Fred, who currently plays for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Luke Shaw is another player who is reportedly set to move out of the Theater of Dreams having fallen out of favour with Mourinho.
Should he eventually move in the summer, Mourinho must ensure he captures Tottenham’s want-away left-back Danny Rose ahead of Juventus, who are also eyeing the England international.
Despite not featuring regularly in Mauricio Pochetino’s team, Rose still remains one of the best defenders in the League and his addition to Mourinho’s team would definitely be a good one in the long run.
The Metro suggest that Mourinho would be given £150m by the United’s hierarchy to purchase the three players in the summer.
