The Blues are reportedly ahead in the race to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus this summer.

The Argentine striker has netted an incredible 146 goals in all competitions since his switch to the Serie A, and has proven his pedigree as one of the most complete forwards of the game.

And citing reports from Italian sources, Football.london, Chelsea are ready to lodge a bid for the ex-Real Madrid frontman.

The reports also claim PSG were also interested in the striker, but the rules of Uefa Financial fair play has ruled out the French Champions out in the running for the 30- year- old.

The London side are in the search of a top class forward this summer and have reportedly earmarked Higuain as an upgrade in quality to Alvaro Morata who has struggled in adapting to the physically of the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the Blues in recent weeks, with the reports claiming the Spanish striker could prove important in the bargaining process of Higuain, as a deal could hinge on a possible Cash plus Morata deal for Higuain.
