Arsenal are yet to sought out Jack Wilshere’s contract issue as they are still contemplating whether to increase his weekly wage or to let him go as a free agent as he would be out of contract by the end of the current campaign.
Though there is a high possibility of extending the player’s contract according to The Express, the North London club are already eyeing a possible summer swoop for Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who would serve as the Englishman’s replacement should they fail to reach an agreement with him.
According to Sport Mediaset, via Corriere del Mezzogiorno, the Napoli midfielder has a release clause worth €65m in his contract with the Serie A gaints, who are ready to partway with him in the summer due to his lack of first-team action for the Maurizio Sarri’s team.
The 23-year-old joined the Naples from Udinese last summer after his impressive performances but has failed to hit the ground running in his first season at Napoli.
Despite his bit-part role under Maurizio Sarri’s watch, Piotr has seven goals and four assists to his cap and that has endeared him to the Gunners sporting director Sven Mislintant, who believes the player has the same physical and mental qualities with Jack Wilshere.
It remains unknown if the North London club would want to pay such excessive amount for the player who has little or no experience of how the League operates.
