Manchester United boss José Mourinho has revealed his plan to keep England international youngster Marcus Rashford in the summer despite the player’s inconsistent performances for the Red Devils this season.
The 20-year-old hasn’t seen much game-time with the club since the second period of the season due to the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez, who was immediately integrated into the team’s first-eleven by the Portuguese manager.
With the Chilean’s impressive performances in recent weeks, it could be difficult for the youngster to command a regular action in the coming season and he is, therefore, hoping to move on a loan deal to another club, where he would be guaranteed a starting berth, in the summer.
Despite his inconsistency and profligacy in front of goals all through this season, José Mourinho is happy with Rashford’s overall performances and he wants to have him around in the 2018-19 season, according to British media outlet 90min.
The publication also suggests that Rashford is unhappy with his bit-part role in the team, and he could force a move out of Old Trafford when the summer transfer window begins. Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, and Anthony Martial are currently ahead of him in the pecking order
Arsenal and Real Madrid have already been linked with his signature but neither of the two teams have made an official approach towards signing him in the summer.
