Manchester United forward Anthony Martial could set to sign a new contract and remain at the club, despite rumours of an impending move away from Old Trafford.
The France International has struggled to live up to the hype surrounding his move and hasn’t featured regularly since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January.
Reports claim the 22- year-old is frustrated over his lack of first-team starts and has reportedly told his agent to search for a new club amidst rumours of a potential swap deal involving Chelsea star Willian.
But according to Premium Sports journalist Matteo Pedrosi, the reports of an imminent exit for Martial could prove unfounded as Mourinho would not be eager on losing a prospect,
The Journalist stated:
”Manchester United don’t want to lose the Frenchman and Jose Mourinho has also made it clear that he is not keen on signing any more forwards in the summer, indicating his desire to keep hold of Martial”.
”If the young Frenchman receives assurances over his playing time next season, he could still put pen to paper on a new deal and dismiss offers to leave”
Whether Pedrosi claims would prove true is uncertain as Martial has just a year running left in his contract and is reportedly not ready to put pen to paper just yet.
