It was reported earlier today that Liverpool have reached a deal with Lyon for Nabil Fekir’s signature while the deal would be officially announced in the summer when the transfer window opens.
The Reds faithfuls are currently in happy mood over the news but they might need to postpone their celebration till the player is officially unveiled as Liverpool player because Chelsea are desperately set to hijack the player in the summer.
Lyon have reportedly accepted a £62m offer for his signature but the Blues are ready to make a fee much more higher than what the Reds have offered so as to convince the Ligue 1 side to change their mind before the start of the upcoming transaction period.
Fekir is one of the best prospects in Europe this year, he has scored an impressive 22 goals and also provides eight assists. Chelsea have endured poor showings in the middle of the pitch this season and they are hoping to find a lasting solution to their midfield’s problems by signing the versatile and lively 24-year-old Frenchman.
Chelsea would be hoping to repeat what they did to Manchester United in 2006 with Nigerian Midfielder Mikel Obi.
The Red Devils have agreed to a deal with the Nigerian’s representatives only to see Chelsea at the nick of time to block their move for the youngster.
