German club interested in Liverpool 6ft star

The Reds second choice shot-stopper Simon Mignolet is reportedly the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The Belgian international has failed to live up to increased expectations since a move from Sunderland in 2013 and was recently usurped by German Loris Karius as Liverpool’s first choice goalie.

Consequently, Mignolet is said to be angered by this decision and will decide his future at the end of the campaign.

The reports claim Dortmund are at the forefront in the running for the 30- year-old, amid the imminent retirement of veteran goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller and the unreliable Romani Burke.

The German outfit have failed to improve their squad, despite the financial outlay incurred last summer and were knocked out in the Champions League group stages, and routed 6-0  by eternal rivals Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

Mignolet’s desperation to leave could see Dortmund snap him on a cheap fee. However, it is perhaps intriguing as to why BvB would be interested in 6ft 4inches star, as the Political Science degree holder has proved he is not among the elites and would arguably not be a convincing upgrade to Burke and the departing Weidenfeller.
