According to reports, Stoke City’s Goalkeeper Jack Butland is poised to complete a summer switch to Liverpool.
The England international has once again gained plaudits over his outstanding form between the sticks and has proven pivotal in the club’s hopes of retaining their premier league status at the end of the season.
Reds Manager Jurgen Klopp was reportedly on the lookout for a top goalkeeper and have seemingly earmarked the 25-year-old as a target to help shore an area that has been found wanting this term.
Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet appears set for an imminent exit, while German goalkeeper Loris Karius’s unconvincing performances have swelled doubts over claims in maintaining his status as No 1 at Anfield next season.
Butland played the entire 90 minutes as Stoke City held Liverpool to a scoreless draw that adds no justification to the club’s chances of beating the drop.
The Potters would however still be reluctant to agree to a deal for their star player but are increasingly aware the Englishman would be keen to secure a switch away to further boost his claims as England’s No 1 at the World Cup slated for Russia.
