Manchester United boss José Mourinho has reiterated his decision not to compete for Chelsea midfielder’s signature in the summer.
The Portuguese manager was linked with a move for Willian during the last transfer window but that seems to be a mere rumour has the manager claimed he didn’t make any official approach towards signing him up from Chelsea.
The Brazilian remains one of the Blues most underrated players since he switched to Stamford Bridge and wasn’t fully utilize by Antonio Conte throughout the campaign.
Despite not being regularly used by the under-fire manager, Willian is reportedly set to remain at Stamford Bridge beyond this season and that could be the main reason behind Mourinho’s decision.
While speaking to newsmen in his pre-match conference earlier today, the Portuguese manager admits he would love to have a Brazilian in his team next season but certainly, it won’t be the Chelsea man.
According to him, Chelsea won’t want to sell one of their standout players in the summer as they are hoping to challenge City for the League title in the upcoming season.
He further shows his contentment with his strikers, claiming he has no reason to add another attack-minded player in the summer.
United will battle Arsenal, and the Portuguese manager will hope to capitalize on Liverpool’s goalless draw against Stoke City by beating the Gunners so as to cement his place in the second position on the Premier league table.
