Chelsea board of directors have reiterated that they won’t part ways with Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko in the summer despite both players’ uninspiring performance for the Blues in their first season at Stamford.
There have been speculations that the outgoing Premier League Champions are set to show both players the exit door during the summer transfer window having failed to live up to their billings but the Blues have swiftly put an end to the speculation as they have publicly revealed their plans to give both players another chance to prove their qualities.
Former Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has scored just 15 goals in all competitions for the Blues so far this season and that is not enough for a striker of his calibre while former Monaco star midfielder Bakayo has failed to perform at the middle of the pitch for the West London Club.
It was earlier reported via Don Balon that Morata remains Juventus top transfer target in the summer as the Old Lady hope to re-sign the player who was lively during his two-year loan spell from the Santiago Bernabeu outfits. But according to Daily Telegraph, Juventus will have to look elsewhere in their bid to improve their frontline as the Blues are ready to retain the Spaniard service beyond this season.
Chelsea must have learnt their lesson in a bitter way after they let go of Kelvin Debruyne and Mohammed Salah after just a season where they failed to impress during José Mourinho’s reign at Stamford Bridge. Both players are currently having the best form for their respective careers for Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Telegraph also reports that Ligue 1 outgoing Champions are ready to make a move to reunite with Bakayo in the summer should Chelsea rescind their decision to keep him for another season.
