Deal Almost Done As Seniorman Could Quit Old Trafford This Summer

Published

on

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United manager José Mourinho is reportedly being tracked by Ligue 1 giants Paris St-German and the French side are believed to have made an outrageous offer for his service this summer.

The former Chelsea and Porto manager joined the Old Trafford outfits last season and he helped the club to a Europa League trophy in his first season with the team.

Despite his recent success with the Red Devils, Mourinho is set to put an end to his two-year spell at the club, a decision which could be traced to his unhealthy relationship with the club’s board of directors.

It was reported via L’Equipe last week that PSG have reached an agreement with Thomas Tuchel over the possibility of replacing Unai Emery, who will be moving out of Parc Des Princes stadium by the close of the season but the latest news via Italian publication AS, Mourinho might just be the next PSG manager ahead of next season.

The Red Devils are currently in the second position on the Premier League log and the Portuguese manager would be hoping to better his team’s performance next season, should he remains as United boss.

Manchester United Youngster

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has put pen to paper on a contract extension at Old Trafford thereby putting a loan transfer to Scottish Premiership side Celtic in serious doubt.

It was announced on Monday that the young midfielder has signed a new contract until the end of the 2022/23 season with the option of an extra year until 2024.

He had earlier been linked with a loan move to Scottish champions Celtic despite the fact that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that the young midfielder will stay at Old Trafford for the rest of the season.

Scottish international McTominay has been linked with a loan transfer away from the club following his inability to feature for the Manchester United team consistently.

He has played just eight times for the Red Devils this term including two appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ex-Norwegian international striker Solskjaer was appointed the interim Manchester United manager for the rest of the season following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

Scott McTominay has found it hard to break into the first team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 22-year-old has played in two of the seven games under Solskjaer who has settled for the midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic.

Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have joined Manchester United in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn.

According to the report from Dutch publication De Telegraaf, the Nerazzurri want to sign the two-cap Dutch international.

Steven Bergwijn has been in superb form for Dutch Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven after netting nine goals and providing eight assists in 17 appearances this season.

The initial €20m (£17.6m) valuation of the player will definitely increase with the interest of both Manchester United and Inter Milan.

The aforementioned publication also revealed that PSV are reluctant to sell him and that a possible transfer out of the club will have to wait till the end of the season.

Manchester United have sent scouts to run the rule over Steven Bergwijn on many occasions including the 2-2 draw with Emmen FC on Sunday.

The Red Devils might have to wait till the summer for a potential deal with PSV for him though it remains to be seen whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be the Manchester United manager.

Solskjaer has a short-term contract until this summer with the likes of Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid), Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur) and Zinedine Zidane all linked with the vacant managerial position at Old Trafford.

Zinedine Zidane

Hazard has dismissed claims that he will consider a move to English Premier League outfit Man United should his schoolboy idol Zinedine Zidane eventually takes over at the Old Trafford.

The Belgium international is reportedly destined for a move to the Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid but United are reportedly making efforts to tempt him into joining the Old Trafford.

This, therefore, sparked suggestion that the Blues star could have a change of mind and consider a move to the other EPL side should Zidane take over at the Old Trafford.

In his reaction, Eden Hazard admitted that going to Real Madrid without Zidane will make it look different but that will not stop his move because the club has not changed.

He added that irrespective of where the former Real Madrid boss finds himself, he will not be lured to join him but will go straight to the club of his dream.

However, the Red Devils are keen on a replacement for their sacked manager Jose Mourinho despite installing an interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Zidane who is currently without a job since leaving the Los Blancos is, therefore, being linked alongside former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Manchester United Youngster

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay could still leave the club in the current January transfer window.

The young midfielder has been strongly linked with a temporary move away from the club but Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant that the player will stay at Old Trafford beyond this month.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are said to be interested in a loan deal that will see the 22-year-old spend the remainder of the season at the club.

Sheth spoke about Scott McTominay and Celtic while he was speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast via the Daily Express.

He further revealed that the Scottish international will struggle to get playing minutes as long as the preferred midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera are free from injury.

Scott McTominay still has to contend with other midfielders like summer signing Fred, Andreas Pereira and Marouane Fellaini for a place in the starting XI if one or more of the aforementioned trio miss out.

Belgian international Fellaini is currently out injured with a calf problem and is not expected back in the team until the end of next month at least.
