Former Chelsea player Paul Merson told reporters that Antonio Conte and two of Chelsea’s best performers are going to depart the Stamford Bridge by the end of the season.
While speaking to Starsports, Merson believes Antonio Conte has already made up his mind to quit his Chelsea job this summer after enduring an unsuccessful second spell at the club.
Merson also speaks on Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois’ future as he claimed both players could be on their way to Santiago Bernabeu as Madrid remain keen on getting the two Belgian internationals before the start of the summer World Cup in Russia.
According to Merson, Chelsea have failed to qualify for next season’s European competition and that could play a major role in convincing both players to move out of Stamford Bridge as he didn’t see the Blues making a quick return to the champions league competition just as Arsenal.
Despite failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League competition, the Blues still has a chance to win a trophy this season as they are fully involved in the FA Cup competition where they would be facing Southampton on Wednesday.
The Blues must avoid losing to the Saints if they must stand a chance of lifting the trophy on the fifth of May.
Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois will have to put aside their unsettled Chelsea’s future so as to help the team go past Southampton’s challenge.
