Ian Rush has heaped praise for Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling before their clash against Liverpool in the quarter-final of this season’s Champions League competition.
According to the Liverpool legend, Sterling is a changed man since Pep Guardiola’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium.
He also believes the striker must have gotten much experience since his move to the Citizens after a turbulent period at the Anfield stadium.
“Sterling is a very quick and talented player while growing, and going to Manchester city has helped him improve a lot as he now has lots of confidence to score goals, outrun defenders and also create chances for his teammates,” Ian told reporters.
Raheem Sterling was in action in yesterday’s defeat to the Reds but he couldn’t prevent his side from losing to Jurgen Klopp’s men who were rampant and active in the final third of the pitch.
With City’s exploit throughout the season, many fans and pundits would be expecting much more convincing performance from the Citizens in the clash against the Premier League counterparts.
Goals from in-form Mohammed Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane was enough to put the Reds in a favourable position ahead of the return leg which will take place at the Etihad Stadium.
Having lost to Liverpool, Guardiola and his men now have a huge task ahead of them going into the second leg of the tie, they must score four un-reply goals to progress to the next round of the competition.
