Manchester United are hoping to beat their rivals to Jorginho’s signature this summer and the club’s chiefs have reportedly made an official approach to the Napoli midfielder’s agent on Friday for discussion over the possibility of bringing him to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old is one of Napoli’s consistent performers this season and has been tipped to join a new club this summer by reporters as United, Liverpool and Arsenal all set to vie for his service when the next transaction period begins.
United boss, Jose Mourinho has revealed his plan to bring two or three center midfielders to Old Trafford this summer as he hope to replace Michael Carrick who will be ending his successful playing career by the end of the campaign.
Maroune Fellaini and Ander Herrera are also linked with a move to Besiktas and Southampton respectively, therefore the Portuguese manager hope to get Jorginho as a replacement for one of the departing players.
Jorginho 26, was in action for Italy in their 2-0 defeat to Argentina at the Etihad stadium on Friday as the Argentina national team prepare for the summer world cup which Kickstart in 83 days time.
According to Rai Sport, Joao Santos, who is the player’s representative, met with United’s delegates to negotiate over the player’s switch to Old Trafford.
The Agent also reportedly met with City’s hierarchy to have an undisclosed conversation about the player’s future.
