Sanchez Backs United Move For James Rodriguez
James Rodriguez’s longtime admirer, Manchester United are in a move for the Real Madrid playmaker who currently plays for Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal.
The Colombian international was loaned out to the Bundesliga giants in 2017 after failing to feature regularly for Zinedine Zidane’s team since the Frenchman took over Los Blancos’ managerial post from Rafael Benitez in 2015.
Manchester United earlier showed their interest in the player during his time at Monaco after breaking into the limelight via his well-taken goal at Brazil 2014 World Cup but the Red Devils were beaten by Real Madrid to his signature.
Since moving to the Bundesliga powerhouse, James Rodriguez seems to have returned to his blistering form as he has been directly involved in 11 goals after just 14 Bundesliga starts this season.
His exploits in front of goal alongside Robert Lewandowski have helped Heynckes’ team sit comfortably at the summit of the League table with 15 points separating them and RB Leipzig who are in the second position after 27 round of matches.
The 26-year-old has a very high release clause of £438m in his contract with the Galacticos but Bayern could sign him up on a permanent basis due to the agreement between both parties.
Despite the player’s release clause, Manchester United striker Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to convince the Colombian to move to Old Trafford in the summer. According to reports, the Chilean forward has been messaging James, advising him that a reunion with José Mourinho will be beneficial to his career.
