Liverpool have been linked with a move to lure Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to Anfield stadium in the summer, according to a renowned Guinean journalist Alpha Balde.
The well-known Guinean journalist has revealed that the Nigeria international could be heading to Jurgen Klopp’s team in the summer after the player agrees to join the Merseyside club after the summer World Cup in Russia.
The Reds were sometimes last months reported to be monitoring the player, who joined Leicester from Belgium side Genk in the 2016-17 season, but nothing materialized between both clubs.
Ndidi has been ever-present in the Foxes side since his move to the King’s Power stadium during Claudio Ranieri’s reign as boss. He was voted as the Foxes young best player last season and he is on course for another individual award due to his brilliant performances so far this season. He has started Premier League all matches played by Leicester City so far this season.
In their bid to replace Emery Can who is set to join Juventus in the summer, the Merseyside club believes Ndidi’s energy and ability to win back possession will make him the best player to replace the 24-year-old Germany international.
It should be recalled that Alpha Balde was the first journalist who reports Naby Keita’s move to Anfield and the deal turned out to be authentic. With the journalist linking Ndidi with Liverpool, the Nigerian might be the next player to join the Reds.
