Arsene Wenger Provides Update on Lacazette Injury

Arsenal forward Alexander Lacazette is on his way to full recovery after the injury which he picked up in the second part of the season against Tottenham.

The 26-year-old Frenchman switched to the Emirates stadium from Olympique Lyonnais last summer and he immediately hit the ground running for Wenger’s team despite the team’s poor performance in the early part of the season.

Despite scoring goals on regular basis for the Gunners, Arsene Wenger showed little faith in the former Ligue 1 player as the 68-year-old rarely played him in full matches.

As a result of his lack of full match experience, the Frenchman’s began to experience a dip in form and he was subsequently left out of the team’s starting lineup by Wenger before he picked up an unfortunate injury which has kept him out of action for several weeks.

The arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan have further pushed the striker down the pecking order at the club and he might be moving out of the North London club in the summer should he fail to regain his place in Wenger’s lineup.

When asked about the player’s injury, Arsene Wenger revealed that Lacazette is returning to full fitness and he will be back in action after the international break.

Arsenal won’t be in action this weekend as they were defeated 4-2 by Nottingham Forest in FA Cup fourth round in January.
