North London club, Arsenal are on a mission to improve the quality of their midfield before next season and they are reportedly set to table an eye-catching £53million offer for Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric in the summer.
Modric 30, is one of the best midfielders in the world and his quality and experience has never been doubted by pundits and football lovers since his move to the Los Blancos in 2012 from Tottenham after agreeing to a deal worth £30m.
Arsene Wenger is set to bring the Croatian midfielder to North London in the summer in his bid to provide a long-lasting solution to his midfield problems before the commencement of the 2018-19 season.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon also confirmed that the Gunners are already in talks with Modric’s agent over a possible switch to the Emirates stadium in the summer. Arsenal’s long-serving midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are yet to extend their stay at the club and both players are being tipped to quit the Gunners in the summer.
It is yet to be seen if Real Madrid would sanction the player’s move out of the club as he is highly-rated by coach Zinedine Zidane.
The former Dinamo Zagreb player has formed a great understanding with Casemiro and Toni Kroos at the middle of the pitch and that was largely responsible for Madrid’s back-to-back Champions League triumph in 2016 and 2017.
Since his switch to the La Liga giants, the Croatian star has won many trophies including one La Liga title, a Copa Del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, Three Champions Leagues, Three Uefa Super Cups and Three FIFA Club World Cup.
He has appeared in 31 matches for the Galacticos in all competitions so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
