Chelsea winter signing discloses regret about his career at Arsenal

France international striker Olivier Giroud has said that his single regret about his career at the Emirates Stadium is that he failed to win the English Premier League title with Arsenal.

The French forward joined the north London outfit’s City rivals Chelsea in January he left Arsenal after a five-year spell with them.

He helped the Gunners win three Emirates FA Cups during his stint with the side but he was unable to help them win the English Premier League.

Indeed, Arsenal have not won the Premier League trophy since their popular unbeaten success in the 2003-04 season.

And Giroud, 31, has said that not being able to lift the English topflight trophy with the Arsene Wenger’s side is his major regret.

The closest Arsene Wenger’s men came to winning the title during Olivier Giroud’s stint there was in 2015-16 league season when they finished second behind Leicester City, while Tottenham Hotspurs finished third.

The forward will be hoping to help the Blues make the top four this term after their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United left them in the fifth position on the log.

The defending Premier League champions travel to the home of Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday.
