£176m-rated Midfielder Tipped as Michael Carrick Replacement

Published

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has been tipped as the perfect replacement for Manchester United Legend Michael Carrick who is set to end his career by the end of the season.

Michael Carrick has been battling numerous injury problems since the start of the season coupled with his heart problems and that has made him decided to put an end to his largely successful career in the summer.

Manchester United boss José Mourinho earlier admitted that there is a need to find a replacement for the player and according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, the Portuguese manager is set to purchase £176m-rated midfielder Isco from Real Madrid.

Isco is one of the best performers in Zinedine Zidane’s team despite the team’s poor performance in the league this season and Mourinho is looking at the prospect of making him switch to Old Trafford in the summer so as to improve his midfield’s quality ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Don Balon also suggested that Isco could be paid £338k as his weekly wages should he accept to depart the Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the summer.

With Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera reportedly set to leave, Isco could be easily integrated into the Reds starting lineup by the Portuguese manager so as to play alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in a three-man midfield formation.

United might break their record as they hope to complete a £176m move for the Spaniard.

Christian Pulisic

Liverpool have received a boost in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic with the statement that playing in the Premier League will be a dream come true for him.

The interest by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Pulisic is still maintained and there is no doubt that a move will be made for him in the coming January transfer window.

It would be recalled that a £11 million bid for the United States international was rejected about two years ago which means they will have to table an improved offer to be able to have him this time around.

The 20-year-old is also interesting Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United but the Reds are believed to be taking the lead with move already made to convince the club and player this time around.

Suggestions are that the German manager is still impressed by the two goals scored by Pulisic in the preseason having stated that he likes the player and will like to have him at Anfield.

However, the player has now handed a boost to his suitors by stating that he had wanted to play in the Premier League as a young boy and he will be glad it is realized now that he is 20.

Liverpool boss has dismissed claims that he is under pressure to deliver at the Anfield

The former Borussia Dortmund boss joined the Reds about three years ago but has failed to win any silverware at the club.

Although, the German manager has been praised for giving the club a new look on the pitch as well as returning them back to their status of being respected by other big guns.

Klopp has been described as one of the best managers the club has ever produced in their history having brought back the glory of the club by reaching the Champions League finals last season as well as finishing second in the Premier League.

The German manager has however been reminded by the management of the need for him to win a title this season but that does not place him under undue pressure.

Klopp stated that he will only continue to work to get his team play better by the game and will not hold anything back.

He added that his wish is to win not minding what the people say about him nor think about him.

However, this is coming with concerns that the Reds are already diminishing in their form and might lose out of competition with other EPL title rivals.

‘We don’t need him’ – Club turn down opportunity to sign United star player

Alexis Sanchez

French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have reportedly turned down the chance to sign unsettled Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

According to the report from Miguel Delaney of the Independent via bleacherreport, PSG are not interested in signing the 29-year-old and that the French capital club is contented with the fearsome attacking trio of Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

PSG don’t have any problem with his £500,000 per week salary but the player is already entering the latter stages of his career at 29 in addition to the fact that he’s struggling with his form at Manchester United.

The Chilean international had earlier ordered his agent to get him a move to PSG in the January transfer window but it looks like the move won’t happen.

Alexis Sanchez might have to continue to endure his frustrating spell at Manchester United.

He became a Red Devil in January after putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal in a swap deal involving Armenian international playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

He has scored just four goals for the club in all competitions.

Issa Diop

West Ham United defender Issa Diop has debunked transfer reports linking him with a move to fellow Premier League side Manchester United ahead of the mid-season transfer window.

Diop talked about Manchester United in an interview with Foot Mercato via Metro.

The 21-year-old defender also spoke about the high praise he received recently from Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho.

Issa Diop disclosed that he was flattered by the praise showered on him by the Portuguese tactician before pointing out that West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini still remains his coach.

He was praised by Mourinho during the 3-1 win over Manchester United in their Premier League clash at the Olympic Stadium.

The young French defender has been in impressive form since he signed for the Hammers from French Ligue 1 side Toulouse.

He was the captain at the French club before making a big money move to the Premier League this summer.

West Ham United paid a whooping sum of £22m to secure his signing from Toulouse.

He has formed a potent centre back partnership with fellow new signing Fabian Balbuena.

West Ham United would be hoping that they can hang on to Issa Diop despite the interest from big clubs like Manchester United.

Chelsea set to lose highly rated striker

Olivier Giroud

French striker Olivier Giroud is one of the players praised and respected by manager Maurizio Sarri in the Chelsea team because of the supposed impact he has had in the team.

The former Arsenal man cannot boast of goals in the Blue jersey but that is not an issue for the Italian manager who said Giroud always help to mount pressure on the opponent’s defence as well as deliver assists for goals.

The same was seen of the player in the Russia 2018 World Cup where he played all games from the group stage to the finals wearing the 9 jersey but failed to score a single goal and yet was not an issue for the manager.

This substance is about to be missed as latest reports link the player out of the Stamford Bridge to French side Marseille on a loan deal as it is reported that the West London side will go for strikers in the January window.

Giroud who has scored just once this campaign is facing competition from Alvaro Morata who joined the club from Real Madrid and has scored a total of six goals this season.

Meanwhile, suggestions are that the Blues will not stand in the way of the World Cup winner should he insist on leaving the club.

Alexis Sanchez

Unsettled Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has reportedly been offered to Champions League holders Real Madrid by his agent Fernando Felicevich ahead of the January transfer window.

According to the report from El Chiringuito via sportwitness, the Chilean international star is desperate to leave the Theatre of Dreams when the transfer window reopens in the next few weeks and has ordered his agent to get him a new club.

The former Udinese and Barcelona player has been a shadow of himself since he became a Red Devil in the penultimate transfer window in January.

Alexis Sanchez joined the three-time European champions from Premier League rivals Arsenal in a swap deal involving Armenian international midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The 29-year-old signed a contract with Manchester United until the end of the 2021/22 season but it seems like he won’t stick around for long despite signing a four-and-a-half year deal with the club.

He has failed to light up Old Trafford with his performances as expected by the Manchester United faithfuls.

Hopes were very high for him especially after the Red Devils won the race to sign him at the expense of city rivals and Premier League champions Manchester City earlier in the year.

26-Year-Old Man United Defender Emerges As A Transfer Target

Phil Jones

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has emerged as a transfer target for former Premier League champions Leicester City ahead of the upcoming transfer window in the New Year.

The 26-year-old has found first team football hard to come by in the new season and that has thrown his long-term future at the club into serious doubt especially with a year left on his present deal with the Red Devils.

He has a Manchester United contract that runs out at the end of this season though the Red Devils can activate the clause of an additional year that will take his contract till the end of the 2019/20 season.

Phil Jones signed for Manchester United in 2011 from English Championship side Blackburn Rovers in what was one of the last transfers made by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson before he retired in 2013.

The England international centre-back has failed to match the expectations and that could partly be traced to his numerous injury problems at Old Trafford.

He was doing well in the last campaign until injury struck again but he recovered admirably to be a part of the England squad that finished fourth at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Liverpool player gets shocking claim of Cristiano Ronaldo

Xherdan Shaqiri

In form Liverpool forward Xherdan Shaqiri has received the biggest boost of his career by being compared to world-class no.7 and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.

This is the opinion of former FC Basel manager Thorsten Fink who says Shaqiri is more naturally gifted than the world best footballer and can also grow to become Liverpool’s best player before the season runs to an end.

Thorsten Fink is not concerned about the fact that Egyptian Mohamed Salah is seen as the best by the manager and the fans as he stated that the Swiss can overtake the former AS Roma star going by his current form.

Shaqiri had a very slow start after switching from relegated Stoke City but seems to be returning to good form as he has scored two goals so far within the little opportunity that was handed.

Thorsten Fink who has had a history with Shaqiri in the Swiss capital was quick to say that the former Stoke City player had natural abilities like Lionel Messi as he does not struggle to do all he does on the pitch.

According to him, Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo worked for all he had achieved and most at times struggle to do all he does in the pitch.

Alves had already had successful spells with Spanish giants Barcelona and Italian champions Juventus before his move to the French giants Paris St Germain and he is currently one of the most successful players of the game.

The Brazilain has got more trophies than any active player in the game and he is bent on retiring as the most decorated player in the world but that will not happen if he does not play in the Premier League as he plans to have a taste of it.

The former Barcelona right full-back says the respect for players by the fans and the passion displayed on the pitch in addition to the intensity is something he must experience before the end of his career.

However, Alves spoke on his past relationship with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola but there is no assurance there will be a move for him.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian would be welcomed by West London side Chelsea as they are believed to have made attempt for him in the past.
