Liverpool faithfuls are hoping their club’s board of directors will make a move for Belgian player, who is on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Chelsea, in the summer despite the team’s recent attacking flares.
The Reds have found the back of the net in eight consecutive matches including their famous 5-0 victory against their Portuguese opponent Porto in the Champions League last-16 first leg fixture but the fans believe the team should get a new striker who will compete with Firmino for place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup as it is unsure whether Daniel Sturridge will permanently return back to Anfield stadium in the summer.
Firmino 26, have been the team’s leading attacker since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, especially this season, and the Reds followers believe there should be more competition at the centre-forward position.
They, therefore, advised Liverpool to make an official approach to Chelsea so as to convince the Blues to allow Batshuayi’s switch to Anfield in the summer.
Batshuayi has been a great addition to the Westfalenstadion outfit since his move in the winter and Borussia Dortmund are considering buying him on a permanent deal in the summer.
According to transfermarkt, Batshuayi is valued at £22.5 million but his price could increase before the end of the season considering his current electrifying form. He has scored 5 goals and an assist in his four appearances for the Bundesliga giants.
