Manchester United world-class goalkeeper David De Gea is set to renew his contract with Manchester United.
According to Times, the Red Devils who have been in talks with the goalie’s agent over a new contract since December have agreed to terms with the player and he could put pen to paper anytime soon.
Despite having 18 months left on his current contract, Manchester United have offered him a long-term contract so as to stop Real Madrid’s growing interest in the Spaniard.
Madrid have been monitoring the player since 2016 transfer market but the Red Devils remain reluctant to let him join the Santiago Bernabeu outfits despite a big-money offer from Fiorentino Perez.
The 27-year-old has been phenomenal for José Mourinho’s side since he joined the team in 2012 as a replacement for Edwin Van Da Sar.
De Gea’s new deal is reportedly set to earn him £220,000 per week and that will make him one of the highest paid goalkeepers in the League. Much will be expected of him in today’s game against Antonio Conte’s team Chelsea.
