One of the most anticipated Premier League fixtures is set to fall upon us on Sunday as Manchester United entertain their biggest rivals, Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho will face his former club and he will hope his team put their awful performance against Sevilla behind them and show the Blues the true character Manchester United are known for since their inception.
As for Chelsea, the Blues-who are in confident mood having played a 1-1 draw against European giants Barcelona in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 tie- will hope to maintain their brilliant form against the Red Devils in order to move up to the third position in the Premier League standings.
Though Premier League trophy could be out of bound for Mourinho’s men, they will hope to consolidate their second position and also close the gap between them and their neighbours Manchester City.
In his pre-match conference, Mourinho told reporters that Paul Pogba could be starting again after four consecutive exiles from the Portuguese starting lineup. The manager praised the Frenchman for his display against Sevilla after replacing Ander Herrera.
He also ruled out Ander Herrera from the encounter as he hasn’t recovered from the 17th-minute injury he picked up against Sevilla on Saturday.
The manager gave no response to one reporter who asked him about his relationship with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
Nemanja Matic will face his former club should he remain fit for the clash.
