Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has debunked rumours linking him out of the Emirates stadium by the end of the season while speaking to BeiN SPORTS on Saturday.
There have been speculations among the media that the France international might end his current contract with the FA Cup holders by the end of the season should he fail to win the Europa League trophy.
It should be recalled that Wenger signed a two-year contract with the Gunners before the start of this season having helped the North London club to last season’s FA Cup glory after a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
Having seen a less-inspiring display from the manager’s team, Gunners faithfuls are calling for Wenger’s sack but the manager believes he still has a year left in his contract which he will see off despite fans displeasure.
As usual, Arsene Wenger’s team are vying for a top-four finish by the end of the season as they currently remain in the sixth position in the Premier League table.
Qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition might be a very difficult task for the North London club considering the forms of other Premier League giants vying for the tickets including Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham who are all above the Gunners on the League’s log.
The Gunners made an early exit from this season FA Cup competition after a shocking 4-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest- a league two side.
It is yet to be seen if Arsenal’s hierarchy would love to continue working with the manager should he fail to make it to next season’s Champions League.
