Manchester United are set to make a surprise move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere who might leave the Emirates stadium by the end of the season after refusing to extend his contract.
The Red Devils are the latest club to show interest in the England international centre midfielder.
It was earlier reported via Mirror that Scudetto Champions Juventus are making enquiries over the possibility of bringing the former Southampton man to Turin in the summer.
With Paul Pogba recent form and speculations surrounding his future, José Mourinho could be forced to make a bid for the player who has rejuvenated his Arsenal’s career.
The 26-year-old who has been with the Gunners for more than a decade was offered a new contract but he failed to accept the offer as the club are willing to cut down his weekly wages from £100 million to £80million.
Manchester coach José Mourinho will be hoping to acquire the services of the player just as he did when he successfully signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal despite having a not-too-good relationship with Arsene Wenger.
Jack Wilshere was missing in action for Arsenal on Thursday in their 3-0 victory over Swedish side Ostersunds FK.
He was replaced by Maitland-Niles in Wenger’s lineup. The Englishman would be back to action next weekend when they tackle West Brom.
