Chelsea could win the Champions League clash against Barcelona on Tuesday according to Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde.
The manager revealed that the clash could be decided by the numbers of days both teams rested before the match.
Chelsea’s last fixture before the much-anticipated clash was against Hull City on Friday while Barcelona’s was on Saturday against Eibar but Valverde believes a day rest could prevent his side from picking up the maximum three points by the end of the game.
He further told reporters that Champions League matches have so much to do with the psychological aspect of player than their physical appearances.
Chelsea’s under-fire manager Antonio Conte must ensure that the Blues avoid being defeated by the Catalans if he wants to continue his job as Chelsea manager until the end of the season.
Barcelona returned back to winning ways after two consecutive draws as they defeated Eibar 2-0 in their last competitive game before they kit up against the reigning Premier League Champion.
Valverde will hope to see his players maintain their form against Eibar when they travel to the Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are going to be without the services of veteran Brazilian centre-back David Luiz who is out due to injury.
The Brazilian who has battled many injury problems so far this season might return to action in two weeks according to Chelsea’s medical team.
