Chelsea captain Gary Cahill have admitted that the Blues are not being treated well by pundits and fans.
According to the captain, Chelsea have received unfair treatment from pundits who always criticise the reigning Champions for their poor results.
Tottenham have been receiving praises from many pundits for their unexpected comeback against Juventus having conceded two goals within eight minutes of the encounter on Tuesday. Unlike the North London club, Chelsea were largely criticized for their back-to-back defeats against Swansea City and Watford last week and Cahill believes the Blues should have been treated with some respect as they are ahead of Tottenham in the League table despite their poor run of results.
Cahill admitted that being criticized have a major influence on player’s performance on the field of play.
Chelsea finished in the tenth position in the 2016-17 season during Mourinho’s reign as Chelsea manager which led to the sacking of the Portuguese manager but the Blues became the league’s Champions during the 2017-18 season.
According to Cahill, the Blues always found a way to prove critics wrong and he believes they can do the same before the end of the season by qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition.
The captain is set to remain on the substitute bench in tomorrow’s game against Hull City as Conte wants to rest his key players ahead of crunch Champions League tie against Barcelona next week.
