Manchester United Legend Roy Keane has thrown a jibe at Liverpool and Tottenham’s lack of silverware over the past nine years.
According to the former Premier League winner, Tottenham and Liverpool are big clubs who should be winning trophies more regularly considering the quality of players they possess.
The former Irish player who is now a coach and a pundit told reporters that it is an embarrassing situation for clubs of such magnitude to boast of just a trophy each after a decade.
Liverpool were close to winning the league trophy in 2014 but they were punished by Manchester United for not being able to take their chances while they were on top of the log.
Tottenham on the other hand, haven’t been competitive enough to win the League until last season when they made Chelsea — who were the eventual Champions— labour hard till the last match of the season before they could be crowned as the Premier League Champions.
Both teams are on course to win at least one trophy this season. Liverpool defeated Portuguese side Porto 5-0 in yesterday’s Champions League fixture while Tottenham fought back to salvage a point against Juventus in Turin and they are favourite to qualify for the next round of the competition.
Tottenham are also active in FA Cup competition but their rivals Liverpool, are out after they surprisingly lose to West Brom 5-2 in the third round of the competition.
