As per Football London, Spain international striker Alvaro Morata left La Liga champions Real Madrid for reigning Premier League champions Chelsea because manager Zinedine Zidane did not feature him in the big matches.
Stiff competition at Real
After returning to Santiago Bernabeu from Serie A champions Juventus after a successful campaign at Euro 2016, the striker was expected to prove what he’s got the club, but the stiff competition from Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema saw the Spain international dropped to the bench or out of the team for many matches.
After being left frustrated, the forward signed for Chelsea, despite fans thinking he’d join Premier League giants Manchester United, but with the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford, the Spaniard opted decided to join Chelsea for more first-team football opportunities.
Decent start at Stamford Bridge
After a decent start to life at Stamford Bridge, the goals have begun to dry up and he only recently returned from an injury this week.
The 25-year-old scored eight goals in his first nine matches for the Blues, although he has since been finding it hard in front of goal.
With the forward making his return from a back problem against West Brom on Monday evening, he will undoubtedly be involved against Hull in the Emirates FA Cup on Friday as he attempts to return to full match fitness.
