Jurgen Klopp advised to drop Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of Porto clash
Jurgen Klopp will take his side to Portugal for their knock out stage Champions League first Leg match against Porto, It is widely believed that Liverpool will be victorious but they could meet a tougher Porto team as they have been in form this season.
As of now, Porto have been unbeaten in Liga Nos after 21 matches, sitting 2 points clear from bitter rival Benfica.
The Portuguese club have been impressive this season, they have won 10 games out of 11 in the Liga Nos, so Liverpool need to be at their best if they want a positive result tonight.
Klopp is a forward thinker, and it is difficult to pinpoint how Liverpool will lineup against Porto, however, we are expecting Klopp to drop Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain tonight.
The former Arsenal forward has been inconsistent this season, although when Liverpool played against Manchester City, Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a superb goal and provided an assist that set up Roberto Firminho goal in a match that ended 4 – 3 in favor of Liverpool, since then he has been struggling to make an impact and his average performances was deservedly opposed by fans and pundits alike.
His failure to impress against Southampton should force Jurgen Klopp to consider Jordan Henderson in the midfield for their match against Porto today.
Unless Oxlade-Chamberlain can consistently perform at the level he demonstrated against Manchester City, he will continue to struggle for selection in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven and the England national team.
