Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly in competition with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for a young attack-minded player who currently plays for Schalke 04 Max Meyer in the summer.
The young German attacking midfielder whose contract with Schalke expire by the end of the season is expected to leave the Arena AufSchalke stadium in the next transfer market as Wenger remain keen on his signature so as to bolster his midfield ahead of next season.
Liverpool are the first Premier League club to show their desire to capture the young prospect in the summer but they are now joined by Premier League rivals Arsenal, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Serie A giants AC Milan.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to find a replacement for Phillippe Coutinho who moved to Barcelona for a British record fee of £142million during last month’s transfer period.
The German tactician seems to have found a capable replacement in his compatriot and he could be making an official approach to the 22-year-old when the transfer market return.
Jurgen Klopp was boosted in his bid to signing the player in the summer as Christian Heidel— Shalke’s CEO— didn’t deny reports linking Max Meyer to the Anfield stadium.
According to Christian in last month’s transfer market, Meyer will make a decision over his future soon whether to remain at the Arena AufSchalke stadium or to move to other clubs in the summer.
Christain also confirmed the player’s happiness while playing for the Die Knapp.
Despite his young age, Max Meyer has played 137 matches for the Bundesliga side scoring 17 goals in all competitions since he was promoted to the senior team in 2012-13 season.
