Real Madrid are reportedly in the final phase of discussion with Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea over a possible move to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
The Spanish La Liga giants are reportedly willing to pay £99milllion for the world-class goalie thereby leaving five-time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo surprised but thrilled according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.
Should the Los Blancos succeed in luring the Spain international to La Liga next season, there will be an intense competition for the place between De Gea and Kaylor Navas who is currently the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper in Zidane’s team.
De Gea 27, is currently one of the best netminders in the world and Madrid faithful will be happy to have such goalkeeper in their club.
The shot-stopper was on the verge of joining the Los Blancos in 2015 deadline day but his move to the Spanish giants was denied at the last minute by an issue with a fax machine.
Having failed in his bid to quit the Red Devils, the 27-year-old Spaniard renewed his contract with Manchester United and has since then improved his quality. His reputation keeps improving on every point-blank save he made during matches.
Just as every season since he moved to the theatre of dream in 2012, De Gea has been phenomenal for José Mourinho’s side so far this season.
His impressive performance has played a huge role in ensuring that Manchester United remain second in the League standings.
