Chelsea star Eden Hazard feels that the side’s participation in the UEFA Champions League has affected their English Premier League form this campaign.

struggling champions

The Blues romped to a Premier League title victory last term but did so without European football. This term, Chelsea have not been able to put up a good battle against league leaders Manchester City in terms of the Premier League log, and Eden Hazard feels that the UEFA Champions League is to blame.

There has been a number of focus on the Blues summer transfer window dealings recently, with many observers claiming that not only did the team signed the wrong types of players to help the team succeed, they also offloaded two vital players.

poor replacements

Spain international striker Diego Costa and Serbian international Nemanja Matic played big roles in the Blues title victory last season and now they are no longer with the club, questions have been raised about their replacements, Spaniard Alvaro Morata and Frenchman Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Belgium international forward Eden Hazard did acknowledge the transfer activities but did not blame any of his new teammates.
The teams next three matches will see them play West Bromwich Albion, Hull City and FC Barcelona across three competitions.
