Manchester United have received a huge boost in their race for Monaco’s player Fabinho as the Brazilian hinted that he will end his spell at the Stade II Louis stadium in the summer.

The 24-year-old was Mourinho’s target in last month’s transfer market but the Portuguese failed to acquire his services in his bid to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.

The gaffer hasn’t given up on his race to complete the move for Fabinho despite interest from a host of clubs including Liverpool.

According to metro via Lancenet, Fabinho claimed that his time with the Ligue 1 Champions is getting to an end but he wants to ensure that he helped the team achieve their mission of qualifying for next season’s Champions League and also finishing the league in the second position by the end of the season.

“I know that that the club’s vision is to try to finish second and qualify for the Champions League, without counting on big-name players, but on young players.

He confessed that his stay at the Stade II Louis stadium has been great but he needs to move to other clubs for new challenges.

“I believe I have gone through this process. I arrived as an unknown, I made my name at the club, won things —but maybe I need a new challenge.” he concluded.

United will hope to defeat Newcastle on Saturday to put pressure on League leaders Manchester City.
