Manchester United Left-back Luke Shaw could be offered a new contract in the coming weeks according to reports.
The former Southampton man was heavily linked with a move out of the Old Trafford stadium in the winter due to lack of first-team action and also constant criticism by United manager José Mourinho but the player managed to escape being sold out by the Red Devils.
Shaw 22, has proven to Mourinho that he is a player who could be trusted if given the chance to show his quality.
The England international is reportedly set to extend his stay at the club as the Red Devils are planning to offer him a new contract before the commencement of the summer transfer market.
After his criticism on Shaw’s performance, the Portuguese manager seems to have developed some trust in the player as he was in Mourinho’s starting lineup in the last five matches played by United in all competitions.
Luke Shaw will be hoping that his recent performances for the 20-time Premier League Champions are good enough to convince England national team Southgate that he deserves a place in the three Lion’s World Cup squad.
United currently occupy the second position in the Premier League table, 13 points behind League leaders Manchester City.
